Candle FAQ

Candle Care 101

1. Trim your Wick.

Before your first burn and every time after that trim your wick. All wicks should be trimmed to 1/4 inch in length. After trimming, remove all wick debris from candle to prevent burning them in your candle. Trimming your candles will help to keep your candle burning evenly and increase the effectiveness to disperse scent load.

2. Burn for 3 to 4 hours.

For any candle that is not a tea lights and votives plan to burn them for 3 to 4 hours. This will allow the candle to burn to its maximum diameter and burn properly. For votives, burn till melted wax almost meets the outer edge of the candle approximately 1 to 2 hours. Tea lights should at least be burned to till the top is fully melted. Burning to these times will help ensure your candles burn properly. Remember do not leave candles unattended or in reach of children or pets.

3. Stop burning when your candle is low.

Weather it's a piler, container or votive you will need to stop burning your candle at some point. For most candles this will be when it reaches a 1/4 inch. Doing this will help prevent unwanted accidents such as the glass cracking on your container candles.
